Title: An Introduction to Deontic Logic, with Application to Game Theory

Abstract:
What is the logical structure of rational recommendations in strategic interaction? After clarifying and motivating that question, I will provide a critical survey of the existing literature on the topic, and argue for one specific approach that defines obligation and permissions, respectively, in terms of necessary and sufficient conditions for rationality.

Bio:
Olivier Roy现为德国拜罗伊特大学(Universität Bayreuth)哲学系第一教席教授，哲学系系主任，“哲学与经济”项目主要负责人。其研究领域涵盖逻辑、计算机科学、决策与博弈，并主要侧重于考察决策活动的理性、社会网络的学习和信念修正、规范的结构及其辩护、共享主体哲学等问题。他是《Erkenntnis》、《Topoi》、《理论与决策库A》等著名国际期刊的副编辑，是斯坦福大学哲学百科“逻辑、计算和主体”的章节编辑。其学术成果具有广泛的国际影响力。
