Title: Argument Scheme Detection and Tree Kernels
Abstract: Argument Schemes are theoretical abstractions describing patterns of reasoning conventionally used in natural argumentation. In particular, these patterns substantiate the inferential connections between premises and conclusions.
Finding ways to classify Argument Schemes automatically could be an important achievement in the development of AI applications. In the talk, a novel methodology will be presented, which uses Tree Kernel classifiers to facilitate the task of classifying/discriminating Argument Schemes.
